Welcome to my official website! My name is Madina Toure and I am currently a general news reporter for the TimesLedger Newspapers in Bayside, Queens covering the neighborhoods of Flushing, College Point, Whitestone and Fresh Meadows. I received my master’s degree in magazine, newspaper and online journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I also received my bachelor’s degree in political science and French at Barnard College in New York City and graduated in May 2012.

I have recently started doing some freelance writing for Africa.com, an internet media company that covers financial, political and cultural news in Africa. I have also written stories for ZNews Africa, a full-featured mobile app providing the latest news content across Africa. I have been helping out with communications and public relations for Miss Guinea USA, a nonprofit organization that seeks to empower young Guinean women through a yearly pageant and have recently joined Go Africa Network, a U.S.-based nonprofit that seeks to advance the awareness and socioeconomic development of Africa and the U.S. through local and international outreach initiatives, as senior public relations officer.
